Halloween at Disneyland Paris 2026: Dates, Programme and What's New

For five weeks every autumn, Disneyland Paris changes character. Pumpkins take over the park, the villains step out of the shadows, and the castle takes on a colder light. The Disney Halloween Festival is the shortest of the park's seasons and, for many families, the best one: the weather is still mild, the decorations are genuinely beautiful, and everything is included with a normal park ticket. Here is what runs in 2026, and how to plan a day that ends well rather than in a queue at midnight.

When is Halloween at Disneyland Paris in 2026?

The Disney Halloween Festival runs from 26 September to 1 November 2026, in Disneyland Park — the one with the castle. That is a little over five weeks, and it covers the French Toussaint school holidays, which are the busiest fortnight of the season by some distance.

If you have any flexibility, the end of September and the first week of October are noticeably calmer than the second half of the month. Same decorations, same parade, half the queues.

Three families of characters

Disney has built this year's season around three groups, and knowing which is which helps you decide where to spend your time.

The Mischievous Spirits

The playful side of the season. A cheerful band of Disney characters in Halloween dress, including Goofy and Donald in a brand-new costume. This is the family to aim for if you have young children: bright, silly, and not remotely frightening.

The Disney Villains

The reason a lot of adults come. Maleficent and Cruella are out in Disneyland Park, along with other familiar troublemakers, and if you head into the darker corners of Frontierland you may find yourself face to face with Dr. Facilier — photo opportunity included, if you dare.

The Mysterious Hosts

The ghostly residents of Phantom Manor, the Paris version of the Haunted Mansion and a genuinely atmospheric ride that runs all year. During Halloween it is exactly where it should be.

Jack Skellington and Sally

Jack, the Pumpkin King, and Sally travel over from Halloween Town for the season. This meet-and-greet is the most popular of the festival, and access runs through a virtual queue — you join it through the Disneyland Paris app or with a cast member at the entrance to the experience.

Two pieces of advice: join the queue early in the day rather than after lunch, and download the app before you arrive rather than fighting with the Wi-Fi at the gate. Places are limited.

Mickey's Halloween Celebration

The season's parade sends the Mischievous Spirits down the parade route to a soundtrack built for it, before everyone converges in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle for the finale. It runs several times a day, and the timings move — check the app on the morning of your visit rather than planning around what you read last year.

Worth knowing: the spot in front of the castle fills up well before the parade arrives. If you want that view, commit to it twenty minutes early or accept a place along the route instead.

The Unlucky Nugget Saloon

The best new idea of the 2026 season, and the one most visitors will walk straight past. For Halloween, the Lucky Nugget Saloon in Frontierland becomes The Unlucky Nugget Saloon: the story goes that a wedding reception was never celebrated there, and the place has been quietly falling apart ever since.

The decoration is properly gloomy and the menu is reworked for the season. It is a restaurant rather than an attraction, so it needs no queue and no reservation in the app — just a decision to have lunch somewhere interesting instead of somewhere fast.

Food, sweets and souvenirs

The season has its own menu across the park, with creations built around each of the three character families. Expect the usual Disney trick of making something look far more frightening than it tastes.

There is also a Mysterious Doors hunt with M&M'S running in Disneyland Park: find the doors, and you may walk away with a treat. It costs nothing, it keeps children busy between rides, and it is the kind of thing nobody tells you about at the entrance.

The Halloween merchandise follows the same three families and appears in the park shops for the season only.

31 October: the one date that is different

If you can plan your trip around a single day, make it 31 October. Disneyland Park runs extended hours, special guests join the celebration, and it is the one date of the year when you can come in costume.

Costume rules are specific and they are enforced: no full face masks, nothing that drags on the floor, nothing that could be mistaken for a Disney cast member. Read the park's costume guidelines before packing anything elaborate — it is a long way to come to be turned back at security.

One thing that surprises a lot of visitors: there is no separate Halloween ticket. The decorations, the parade, the characters and the 31 October evening are all included with standard park admission in 2026. You do not need to buy a special party ticket as you would at some other Disney resorts.

Opening hours and how to shape the day

During the season Disneyland Park typically opens around 9:30 a.m. and closes in the evening, with longer hours on 31 October. Treat that as indicative rather than a promise: hours shift with the date, and the Disneyland Paris app publishes the real schedule a few days ahead. Check it the night before you go.

A Halloween day has a different shape from a normal one. The decorations come into their own after dark, which means leaving at six — tired children, long day — costs you the best hour of the visit. The alternative that works with young families is a later start: arrive around eleven, take a real break in the middle of the afternoon, and stay through the evening.

Is it too scary for children?

No. Halloween at Disneyland Paris is pitched at families, not at thrill-seekers. There is no haunted maze, no actors chasing anyone, nothing designed to frighten. The villains are theatrical rather than threatening, though Maleficent and Dr. Facilier do commit to the part, and children under six sometimes prefer to watch from a few metres back.

What actually catches families out is the length of the day. Bring a stroller even for a child who normally walks, plan the afternoon break before anyone asks for it, and decide in advance how you are getting back — because that last decision matters more than people expect.

Getting to Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris sits about 32 km east of Paris, roughly 45 minutes from Charles de Gaulle airport and about an hour from Orly. The RER A and the airport shuttles do the job perfectly well in the morning, when everyone is fresh.

They do it far less well at the end of the day, with two exhausted children, a stroller and a bag of souvenirs — and on 31 October, when the park empties late, the queue is longest exactly when everyone has had enough. A private transfer solves the end of the day rather than the beginning: a driver waiting at the time you chose, a fixed price agreed before you travel, free child seats fitted before you arrive, and your hotel door rather than a station platform. For arrivals we track your flight, so a delay changes nothing. Our most common routes during the season are CDG to Disneyland Paris, Orly to Disneyland Paris and Paris to Disneyland Paris.
