Paris Fashion Week September 2026: The Complete Guide

Twice a year, Paris becomes the capital of the fashion world. From Monday 28 September to Tuesday 6 October 2026, Paris Fashion Week unveils the Spring/Summer 2027 womenswear collections — and the calendar is packed: 101 labels, 68 runway shows and 33 presentations. Here is everything you need to know: the dates, the key shows day by day, the season's debuts, what you can see without an invitation, and how to get around a city in full Fashion Week mode.

What is Paris Fashion Week?

Paris Fashion Week is the final and most closely watched stop of the international season, after New York, London and Milan. Organised by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, it brings together the great Paris houses and designers from all over the world. The collections shown this autumn are the ones that will reach the shops next spring and summer.

Paris actually hosts several fashion weeks a year: menswear in January and June, haute couture in January and July, and womenswear ready-to-wear in March and at the turn of September–October — the edition covered in this guide.

The key shows, day by day

The official calendar is still provisional: times, and sometimes days, can change, and exact venues are often confirmed only shortly before each show. Here are the highlights as currently scheduled.

The debuts and returns everyone is watching

Every season has its storylines, and this one is about fresh starts:

• Courrèges — the first collection by its new artistic director, Drew Henry (30 September).
• Carven — Kai Nesselrath presents his first collection for the house (1 October).
• Maxhosa Africa — the South African label founded by Laduma Ngxokolo joins the official show calendar for the first time (28 September).
• Maison Margiela — back on the Paris womenswear calendar under Glenn Martens, after a show in Shanghai (29 September).
• Valentino — Alessandro Michele returns to Paris after presenting the previous collection in Rome (4 October).

Can you attend a show without an invitation?

Honestly, no: runway shows are invitation-only — press, buyers, clients and celebrities — and no tickets are sold. But Fashion Week spills out far beyond the venues:

• Watch live — most of the big houses stream their shows on their websites and social media.
• Street style — before the major shows, photographers gather outside the venues to capture the guests' looks. Enjoy the spectacle, but keep entrances and the road clear.
• Shopping — the flagships of avenue Montaigne and rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the concept stores and young designers of the Marais, the Left Bank boutiques of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and the department stores on boulevard Haussmann.

Fashion exhibitions to see that week

• Palais Galliera, the Paris fashion museum (16th arrondissement) — Un vestiaire à soi. Féminités dissidentes au 19e siècle opens on 26 September 2026 (until 14 February 2027), about the women who defied the rules of the nineteenth-century wardrobe. Until 18 October, Tisser, broder, sublimer. Les savoir-faire de la mode celebrates fashion craftsmanship.
• Musée des Arts Décoratifs (rue de Rivoli, next to the Louvre) — La Mode en majesté. Haute couture et tradition à la cour de Thaïlande, until 1 November 2026.
• Maison Européenne de la Photographie (the Marais) — Penn & Fashion, six decades of Irving Penn's fashion photography, from 30 September 2026 to 17 January 2027.
• le19M (Porte d'Aubervilliers), home of the craft ateliers brought together by Chanel — Métamorphoses, les chapeaux de Maison Michel, a free exhibition on the art of hat-making, from 23 September to 13 December 2026.

Also in Paris that weekend

On 3 and 4 October 2026, ParisLongchamp racecourse, on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne, hosts the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, one of the world's most prestigious horse races. With Fashion Week in full swing at the same time, expect extra traffic in the west of the city and plan your journeys with a margin.

Getting around Paris during Fashion Week

This is where Fashion Week can go wrong. Shows are spread across the whole city — monuments, museums, private mansions, galleries, warehouses — and the schedule is relentless. Expect heavy traffic, crowds and barriers outside the big venues, and very few free taxis at the exact moment a major show ends.

• Allow wide margins between shows on opposite sides of Paris: a cross-town drive at rush hour can easily take 45 minutes or more.
• Central Paris is a limited-traffic zone (1st to 4th arrondissements): driving straight through is banned, but taxis and VTC private-hire cars can enter, as can anyone whose destination is inside — so you can still be dropped at the door.
• Keep your invitation at hand and your phone charged.

Arriving in Paris for Fashion Week

Hotels fill up quickly and rates often climb during Fashion Week, so book your accommodation early, ideally close to the venues you'll visit most. Travel times into the city:

• Paris CDG — about 35–50 minutes to central Paris, longer at rush hour.
• Paris Orly — roughly 30–40 minutes.
• Paris Beauvais — about 85 km north of Paris: allow 1h15 or more.

With a pre-booked transfer, your driver is waiting in arrivals, tracks your flight in case of delay and takes you straight to your hotel at a price fixed in advance. Choose a van if you travel with garment bags, sample cases or a team.
