Paris in 2 Days: A Simple First-Timer Itinerary

Two days in Paris is enough to see every icon and still linger over a café crème — if you route the days geographically so you're never doubling back. Here's a relaxed, tested plan for first-timers, hour by hour.

Day 1 — Classic Paris

Start early at the Trocadéro for the head-on Eiffel Tower photo before the crowds, then walk down to the river for a Seine cruise (about an hour) gliding past Notre-Dame, the Louvre and a dozen bridges. Lunch in Saint-Germain, then spend the afternoon in the Louvre (book a timed ticket) or stroll the Tuileries up to the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe for golden hour.

Day 2 — Art & Montmartre

Begin at the Musée d'Orsay (Impressionists, and far less overwhelming than the Louvre), wander the Latin Quarter and the Île de la Cité for lunch, explore Le Marais in the afternoon, then finish in Montmartre — the artists' square, the winding streets and sunset from the Sacré-Cœur steps.

💡 Tip: Pre-book the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and d'Orsay online. Timed tickets let you walk past the ticket queues — on a two-day trip, that's easily an hour saved for a coffee instead.
